Benefits of Recruiting a Fellow

When an employer asks “what’s in it for me?” – we give these as THE PRIME BENEFITS FOR RECRUITING A FELLOW:

  1. The typical profile is 29-45 years old; therefore each Fellow has an average of 5-15 years manufacturing management experience.
  2. Fellows are therefore experienced professionals, who have gone to Cranfield for a top-up / refresher programme to widen their considerable knowledge further.
  3. Fellows have been through a rigorous selection procedure already, including a 7-hour assessment day, and a 11-week intensive in-house (Foundation) phase. Also included is a 90-minute in-depth psychometric test with 37 constructs first used at the Pentagon. Results of which can be made available upon request.
  4. Fellows also undergo 1:1 personal coaching to develop self-awareness and enhance their own change management capabilities. For them to be representing Cranfield at senior level, we have to be very confident in their abilities.
  5. Therefore fellows are a talented, experienced group who provide a low risk method of recruitment, with an enhanced likelihood of considerable success
  6. Cranfield works with the company in the first year to support, set and monitor monthly targets, again increasing the likelihood of a very successful time with the host company.
  7. Recent Fellows to complete their 12 months placement have averaged efficiency savings to their companies worth £250,000.
  8. The cost of £4,150 / month is therefore revealed to be very cost efficient.
  9. The appointment can be made permanent at the 12-month mark, indeed 75% on average retained, but this is at the client’s discretion. This flexibility on employment status is an immensely attractive consideration to the employer.

Along with a passion for excellence and the added value of strong and supportive alumni network, typical Fellow skill set will encompass some or all of:

  • Lean Manufacture
  • Six Sigma
  • Continuous Improvement / Kaizen
  • TOC (Theory of Constraints)
  • Operations Management / Production Management
  • TPM
  • New Product Launch / Development
  • Change Management / Team Working
  • Supply Chain / Planning & Logistics / MRP / MRP2
