Fellowship in Manufacturing Management

 
Suitable for those aspiring to accelerate their development, change careers and/or acquire change management skills.

Takes you on to the industry-recognised award of FMM, and senior manufacturing positions to director level.

You will be taught by experienced manufacturing professionals. Lectures are reinforced with mini consultancy projects in manufacturing companies. Interactive sessions with practising industrialists are also a part of the course.

 
Course description

The Foundation Phase:
This intensive period provides an update of management skills, introducing the latest philosophies and world class techniques. It equips Fellows with the knowledge, skills and competencies to make the most of development opportunities in the In-Company Phase. The core modules are Manufacturing, Business Management and Personal Effectiveness. They are delivered by specialists in the various subject areas who have extensive experience of their practical implementation. Learning is reinforced by small consultancy projects to help manufacturing companies address real problems and through interactive sessions with visiting industrial specialists.

The In-Company Development Phase:
Also referred to as the Industrial Phase, this is a 12 month assignment in a progressive manufacturing company, with focus on knowledge transfer, innovation stimulus and improved competitiveness.

Fellows are placed into roles carefully selected to challenge their skills, develop them personally and, importantly, show tangible return for the host company. They are assigned an experienced industrial consultant to provide support, guidance and advice.

This mentoring, combined with quarterly workshops at Cranfield, enables Fellows to achieve quite remarkable successes for their host companies while stretching their own limits.

This course leads to the award of a fellowship.

 
Entry Requirements

Graduate or equivalent. At least four years industrial experience and can demonstrate drive, flexibility, commitment and leadership potential. Selection procedure is, by necessity,rigorous. 1st stage – completion of application form. 2nd stage – if meeting required standards will be invited to attend one-day assessment centre at Cranfield, which includes personal interview

Non-Europeans must have a valid work permit

12 weeks residential Foundation Phase at Cranfield University
12 months Industrial Placement within a manufacturing company

Three times a year:January, May & September

Assessment
Assessed on practical achievement during 12 month Industrial Placement.
Regular workshops at Cranfield. Support provided by a Cranfield tutor responsible for continuous monitoring of performance. Tutor acts as mentor and provides guidance to help you make the most of the development opportunity
